Former midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes Arsenal should have signed Emiliano Martinez instead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The latest report from the English media revealed that “Gunners” are close to signing Kepa, who was once the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, for just £5 million. โปรโมชั่นพิเศษจาก UFABET สมัครตอนนี้ รับโบนัสทันที But Petit thinks that his old club should turn to Martinez instead, believing that he will bring a winning attitude to the team.

“Since Kepa Carrizabalaga joined Chelsea, it’s been a nightmare for him,” Petit told talkSPORT. “He went to Real Madrid, which was not good either. He went to Bournemouth and wasn’t a regular starter but ended up doing quite well.”

“For Bournemouth it’s another story but at the biggest club in the world you have to have the right attitude, especially as a goalkeeper. I think Arsenal need a goalkeeper who can – not replace David Raya because he’s good – but can give them another option.”

“If I was Arsenal I would go with Emiliano Martinez because of what he did against Argentina and Aston Villa – I didn’t like the way he behaved against PSG but he has a winning mentality and that’s important for Arsenal.”

“He’s a bad boy which is important in winning the team. He’s an inspiration to other players. Now Arsenal have good players. 25 years ago when we won the title, we had some bad boys in the team but with the heart to win. Arsenal need that.”
